How are technology giants like building their information center? The following building pictures from Gizmodo’s Jesus Diaz is one of the Apple’s data center. But the picture itself seems pretty blur and fake?
Apple’s new data center is said to be located in North Carolina United States. According to news source, the 500,000 square feet building is going to be the largest data center in the world!
And a bit of brush up:
Apple’s current data centre in Newark is a little over 100,000 square feet (9000 square metres), while most data centres around the world don’t pass the 200,000 square feet (19,000 square metre) mark. The new one, located near one of Google’s large facilities in Maiden, NC, will be a colossal 500,000 square feet (46,000 square metres). That’s a lot of computing nodes, and massive storage space.
The X Files Agent Fox and Scully would probably ask: “Why build such a big data center? Is this to build a gigantic storage and extremely secret project from the government? Or another just another gigantic building for the Guiness Book World of Records? Perhaps, only Apple’s knew the answer!
