The new UnLimited Laptop Series from Asus has the CULV feature. This product is a cross function between netbooks and higher end ultra-portables device. The Unlimited Laptops comes in 12.1″, 13.3″, 14″ and 15.6″ systems with 1366×768 display resolution.
They are powered by either ultra low voltage Core 2 Duo, Solo or Celeron processors. Colored in black or brushed aluminum chassis that is less than an inch thick.
Starting at the low-end with the 12-inch UL20A, users will be able to choose between a 1.2GHz Celeron and 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and a 160 or 320GB hard drive. Stepping up to the UL30A brings a 13.3-inch LCD as well as the option of a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo and a 500GB hard drive. Both models will ship with Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics and no optical drive.
Then at the higher end of the spectrum the 14″ UL80V and 15.6″ UL50V — available in five different versions — feature discrete Nvidia GeForce G 210M graphics and support for up to 4GB DDR3 or 8GB DDR2 memory depending on the model. Also included are a built-in DVD burner and an 8-cell battery rated for 12 hours of use on a single charge. Additionally, all UL laptops feature “exclusive Turbo33 technology,” which according to Asus “adds more than 30% processing power.”
