What if I told you that it is possible to build a fan without any fan-blade? Believe what I say? You better believe it, cause James Dyson just come up with a unique fan model called the Air Multiplier. It does not require any blades at all.
The Air Multiplier could provide a smooth uninterrupted air produced by the multiplication as much as 119 gallons every second!
So how is the cool gadget work? First thing first, the Air Multiplier draws the air on its base. This air is then forced up into the loop amplifier and is accelerated through the 1.3mm annular aperture. This creates a jet of air around the airfoil-shaped ramp. While this air is exiting the loop amplifier, another gust of air is pulled in from behind the fan. At the same time, the surrounding air from the front and sides of the machine are forced into the air stream and are amplified by around 15 times.
We realised that this inducement, or amplification, effect could be further enhanced by passing airflow over a ramp, says Dyson. And of course this was the point where the idea of a bladeless fan became a real possibility. Here was a way to create turbulent-free air and finally do away with blades.
How to clean the blade-less fan? A safe and simple way is using its brush-less motor. It also features a dimmer switch that allows users to adjust the air speed. As the motor of this fan is at the base, the fan can be easily tilted and turned with just one hand.
