Canon Japan has unveiled their Finger Print Authentication Software in conjunction to Hitachi Software Engineering for their MEAP Advance-enabled imageRUNNER ADVANCE series of multi-functional peripheral devices (MFPs). The Finger Print Technology is capable for implementation for your office photocopier to only let authorized personnel to access and perform photocopying jobs.

Or at the least, top level management will know who in your office performs such activity using the photocopy machine in a suspicious hours.

Developed base on Sun MicroSystems’ JAVA J2ME platform, it is capable for networked devices such as printing, copy, scan or fax devices. The Finger Print technology and application will available starting July 8 this year.
