Have iPod and iPhone and can’t figure out which digital media receiver is the best player in your car? Following iDA-X305 is an interesting 2.2-inch color LCD screen digital media player from Alpine.

Alpine iDA-X305 provides Satellite radio, HD Radio Tuner, AM/FM stations, bluetooth adapters, CDs, MP3, iPod and iPhone players. This is meant let users enjoy their in-car listening pleasure. Unfortunately if you’re looking for a truly integrated solution, you’ll find that you have few separate options.

The device will show three display modes for users to choose from:

The first mode is the typical hybrid display. It will show a thumbnail of the album artwork and all relevant information for the track (name, artist, album). You’ll also see a small clock and date below these;

In the second mode, it can display a larger picture of the album cover with only the track name printed;

And the third mode, you can have it depict a large clock along with the date.

The iDA-X305 comes with a USB cable and a special iPod connector. The cable long enough to circle your glove box, or just about anywhere in the front of the car you’d like. Upon plugging in the iPhone, you’ll be greeted with the same charging screen that you see with all iPhone-supported docks.

List Browsing Made Easy

Finding specific songs, albums and artists using the iDA-X305 should be easy as well, with a press of a button you will be prompted with the list of choices for songs, artists, albums and playlists. To ease selection for list of choices, you could scroll the big knob to the left or to the right side for faster browsing through the list. This feature is extremely useful when you are driving and need a little time to select song among those jungled lists in your iPhone or iPod devices.

And when you press in on the outer ring of the knob and twist, you could skip through the selections in a much faster pace. The knob is programmable so you could get the list ahead, say 10% up or down the list on a twist left or twist right. We believe, utilizing this great feature will ease one to find exactly what they are searching for in a matter of eyes blips.

Supported External Drives

Not everyone is going to have an iPhone or iPod filled with music, which seems to defeat the entire point of having this particular unit. It does support other MP3 players, hard drives and flash drives using a USB port.
