Miracast: The New AirPlay Rival For Wireless

There is a good news for owners of Samsung Galaxy S III and LG Optimus G smartphones, as the new wireless standard introduced by the Wi-Fi Alliance, both afore mentioned smartphones will be able to enjoy wireless multimedia experience on the devices of their choice, regardless of the brand.

However, the new Miracast standard will only support all existing WiDi enabled displays, including Samsung Echo-P Series TV. Let’s roll the video about the Miracast project…


The Miracast project itself has a lot in common with DLNA and AirPlay, while claims to offer more information to its users, including list of Wi-Fi certified Miracast products available on the Wi-Fi Alliance website.

Miracast itself is a new standard created by the Wi-Fi Alliance, based on Wi-Fi Direct to help mobile communication devices to enjoy wireless multimedia experience and to compete with Apple for their AirPlay feature.
