HDR-AS15 is the new rugged outdoor Handy Cam unveiled by Sony at IFA this year. Designed with waterproof casing that subject to dive-ready, Sony HDR_AS15 Action Cam is built for outdoor adventurers, bikers, skiers, skaters, swimmers as well as divers.
The HDR-AS15 Action Cam is capable to record full HD with multiple slow motion modes, while the integrated Wi-Fi capabilities is useful for sharing captured videos over the internet or social networking at places where Wi-Fi Hotspot or WiFi connectivity is available.
The dimension of HDR-AS15 Action Cam is 1 x 1.9 x 3.25-inches, weighing 90g. Other features including built-in microphone, monaural speaker, card slot for Memory Stick Micro and Micro SD/SDHC, microHDMI output, stereo mini-jack mic input, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 170-degree lens, Exmor R CMOS useful for capturing dark shooting environment from dawn until dusk in a wide range of light conditions, and SteadyShot image stabilizer as well as 3-Way Shake Canceling.
This Sony Action Cam is capable to capture 1080p video at 30 fps, four other modes, including two HD slow motion modes (720p at 60 fps and 720p at 120 fps). The athlete controls filming with a simple start-stop push button. Survive 197 feet (about 60 meters) depth submersion inside the water, Sony is planning to add full gamut of supportive hardware into HDR-AS15 Action Cam, such as handhled grip with LCD display, anti-fog accesory, range of mounts geared for different sports setting and tilt adapter.
HDR-AS15 is now available for pre-order, the standard version is scheduled for shipment later this month for USD200, while the one with viewfinder or viewing screen with WiFi connectivity can opt in for the USD270 model.
