Searching for electric vehicle? Mitsubishi has kick-started the production of its i-MiEV at the North American version, which is larger than both European and Japanese version. Powered by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery, Mitsubishi i-MiEV offers a top speed of around 80 mph or about 130 km/h and the traveling distance ranging from 80 to 100 miles after a full recharge.
The North American i-Miev model will soon available in Hawaii, California, Washington and Oregon by late November this year, while rest of the states and Canada will follow early next year.
You will see fron and rear bumpers, ASC (Active STability Control) standard, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and airbags that smart enough to sense passengers’ seating position and activate airbags properly.
The North American version of i-MiEV is currently being manufactured at Mitsubishi’s Mizushima Plant in Japan, and comes with more torque at 196 Nm than it’s European and Asian counterparts.
Additionally, i-MiEV owners could get the ‘Premium package’ that comes with HDD navigation system, rear camera, USB port, steering wheel-mounted audio controls with a DC quick charging port.
