Japanese people have begun to accept Western Technology such as Apple’s iPhone into their technology daily life. They even have created gorgeous painting and craftmanships on those iPhone cases.

And to remark on the iPhones circulation topping the 1 million units in the market, SoftBank BB (a sister company of Japan-exclusive iPhone provider SoftBank Mobile) start to offer iPhone cases with Japanese drawings and paintings with excellent craftmanship on those iPhone cases.

The profound idea is to show Japanese that warlords (those respected conqueror) from Sengoku period would probably use iPhones if they lived in today technology era.  Every case comes with a specially designed pouch, a booklet explaining the historical background of the design and a neat storage box.

It was called JAPAN TEXTURE [JP] series, where the drawing and painting consists of five different designs. Created under the supervision of a historian, SoftBank says each case is covered with special lacquer and gold dust. It takes three to four weeks to make one, which is a logical explanation of why it was priced so high.

If you own an iPhone, have $1,000 to spare and a strong penchant for Japanese history, this might be the right thing for you (but SoftBank isn’t planning to sell the cases outside Nippon).

Price: JPY99,800.- (incl. tax+pouch+box) or approx. USD1,000.- per iPhone case.
