This is a neat detector for blind people! The Primpo iSonic detector will lets users to detect walking path or surfaces using a vibration technology.
The iSonic device was being introduced during CeBIT 2010 in HANNOVER, Germany. iSonic is capable to informs visually handicapped usersĀ for any obstacle within 2 meters of their walking path boundaries.
The vibration strength will varies according to the vertical and horizontal degrees. Besides, the walking stick will also detect some major color and brightness level on the current environment and send out voice to tell its user.
In this way, visually handicapped or blind people will now more about their surrounding conditions, such as is if the weather is cloudy or clear, what color of the brick beneath his feet, etc.
The detected scopes are 50 degrees vertically and 25 degrees horizontaly.
