We use USB cable to connect two computers or to bridge computer and device for data transfer. Now there is a new way to connect two computers, using iTwin’s wireless usb device.

The iTwin has what they are boasting as one simple hardware to bridge connection between two remote computers together and share information.

iTwin’s device consists two USB drives that also comes as wireless usb data bridge. When you need it, you can separate them and plug them into separate computers to allow instant sharing of files. While the amazing part is, according to the designer of this device, you could plug one end on one computer and other end on another computer somewhere else in the world that has internet connection, and that’s it, you could instantly access and transfer data between those two computers.

A major breakthrough is the device hacker-proof! How solid is the security for the wireless device? A number of barriers or hurdles might just appear to your mind when thinking about how this could work, as individual computer has firewalls and port security, to network firewalls, internet connections and authentication on both ends.

However, according to the designers of iTwin drives, this device basically makes a connection between the two computers as if they have a “cable-less cable”. The file sharing is unlimited and encrypted, and by simply unplugging one end, the other end is left useless for any attempting hacking.

A user of the iTwin drives can connect them to a single computer and drop some files into the drive, then disconnect the second USB drive. The second USB can then be taken to another computer somewhere else in the world and plugged in, giving instant and automatic access between the two computers.

The iTwin company is based out of Singapore and plans to launch the product locally in the first part of 2010, and eventually moving to the U.S. and Europe six months later.
