Either change the appearance or get slimmer! This is probably the trends in mobile computing market where Dell Adamo XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad x100e, MSI X-Slim X600 and Asus U36 have been competing for!

The Latest news from Lenovo is the release for Y, V and Z Series IdeaPads during CES 2011 at January 6th ~ 9th in Las Vegas.


Lenovo Y Series consist of,  Y470, Y570 and Y570d, taking respective screen sizes of 14-inch, and 15.6-inch for the later two. Lenovo Y Series laptops are LED paneled and  are powered by Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce 555M, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, 2MP webcam, 3x USB2.0 ports, Blu-ray drives, JBL speakers, and Mini PCle. For Y570d, you could enjoy 3D effects using the bundled 3D glasses.


Lenovo V Series laptops consist of V370, V470 and V570, taking respective screen sizes of 13.3, 14, and 15.6-inches. Pretty similar to Y Series, Lenovo V Series laptops also powered by Intel Core i7 processors, other features including 1TB HD, up to 8GB of DDR3, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, HD graphics support, Blu-ray drive, HDMI port and stereo speakers.

Lenovo V470 and V570 laptops are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce 525M graphics options, meanwhile Lenovo V370 gets a slower  NVIDIA GeForce 315M graphics processor.


On the other hand, the Z Series IdeaPads, with respective screen sizes of  13.3-inch for Z370, 14-inch for Z470, and 15.6-inch for Z570. These Z Series IdeaPads are powered by Intel Core 2011 processors, up to 8GB DDR3, Blu-ray drives, 802.11a/g/n WiFi, 3x USB ports, 5-in-1 card reader, HDMI, VGA ports and a webcam. For graphics processing, Z370 taking NVIDIA GeForce 410M graphics card, while Z470 and Z570 come with NVIDIA GeForce 525M 2GB graphics.

Above Lenovo’s laptops will be equipped with Blu-ray drives, JBL-designed speakers, plus Mini-PCle, a six-in-one card reader, optional TV-out, HDMI, RJ45, three USB 2.0 ports, 6-cell battery and a 2 megapixel webcam. Lenovo Y, V and Z Series LED paneled laptops will be using Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs.

Expect all Y, V, Z Series laptops from Lenovo for release by late April or early May this year. No info on pricing and availability for both V and  Z Series laptops yet, Lenovo Y Series Laptops started at USD899.99.
