Talking about long queuing, Meizu M9, an Androi Froyo phone that was launched on the first day of 2011, has let two Shenzhen base retail stores to serve a long queuing of several thousand customers early in the  morning of first day launching.


Offering huge potential of China’s market, no wonder so many overseas mobile gadget manufacturers are competing to get their bite for the giant pie. Meizu M9, that was locally manufactured in China, claims to offer similar features as an iPhone does.

The 3.56-inch display offers 16 million colors, 960×640 pixel resolution, and the M9 smartphone itself has a dimension of 59.8 x 113 x 11 mm, weighing 123 grams. Meizu M9 smartphone is powered by 1GHz Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110 processor, 45-nanometer Low Power fabrication process and 32KB data and 32KB instruction caches, equipped with 512KB L2 cache, high speed 3D graphics rendering and high resolution video support.

The Cortex A8 base  processor also offers built-in PowerVR SGX 3D graphics engine from Imagination Technologies and for graphics you will get Power VR540 GPU that offers high performance and sophisticated 3D UI for latest games.

Meizu M9 also offers 1080p full HD codec engine that will let users to playback and recording 30fps full HD video, guess, there will be a should be a mini HDMI port, but base on report by MeizuMe’s forumer, latest version does not include any HDMI port!

Other features including 512 Mb ROM / 512 Mb RAM, supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA and HSUPA at 7,2/5,76 Mbps speeds (Both should work in Europe). Other working network including  2100 Mhz band of WCDMA.

You will find microSD/SDHC/TF for additional storage support. Meizu M9 will come with either an 8GB or 16GB TF card inside the bundle. There is a 5MP camera that capable to capture 2592×1944 pixels photos, autofocus feature, 720 HD video recording, 1280×720 resolution at 30fps.


Meizu M9 is running Meizu’s customized version of Android 2.2 (Froyo), recognizing English language and expect to get Android 2.3 firmware update once available. There is also a 1370mAh battery, bluetooth 2.1, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, supports A-GPS, TV-out, mini USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm audio jack.
