Following plant-base bottle announced by PepsiCo is the world’s first on its category that will commence production by 2012.

PepsiCo boast the plant-base bottle is made completely from natural raw materials, including pine bark, corn husks and switch grass that would share similar molecular structure identical to polyethylene terephthalate or PET plastic material that is used for making conventional soft drinks’ plastic bottles.


These plant-base bottles is claimed capable to nullify the negative carbon footprint and slow bio-degradation problem of plastic bottles faced by most under developed and developing countries.

According to PepsiCo CEO, Indra Noovi, the idea is to integrate sustainable business model to brings life the essence of Performance with Purpose.

Pepsi is now planning to utilize the potato peels as a waste from its potato snack businesses and orange peels from juice business.
