Another HDD Bay that is launched by QNAP Corp., the SS-830 Pro Turbo NAS is the smallest 8-bay 2.5″ HDDs’ device in the market.

The power consumption of SS-839 Pro is almost 60% less than general 3.5″ 8-bay NAS. Also, the NAS adopts predominant heat dissipation and ultra silence design, making it a cool and quiet solution in the working environment with the use of the low vibration and highly reliable 2.5″ hard drives.

QNAP SS-839 Pro powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM and 128M flash memory. It supports RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5 + hot spare, single, and JBOD, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, and Online RAID Level Migration. It offers also AES 256-bit volume-based encryption.
QNAP’s new Turbo NAS includes built-in iSCSI target feature providing an affordable IP-SAN (Storage Area Network) alternative. It can be used a a file server, FTP server, web server and even iTunes server and UPnP media server. It offers two Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet ports and two eSATA ports.
