Ropid is a mix of word “Robot” and “Rapid” – a prototype version of this humanoids jumping robot is being reviewed on Impress.

Yes, it was made in Japan, a country reknown for its manga comics and robotic fantasy that seems to materialize rapidly during the last few years. Perhaps the first little robot that could jump as high as 8 cm on voice commands ever created!

Do you remember the desktop robot reviewed early this months? Yes, it is pretty similar to Robovie, Ropid has the tall of 38cm.

Kyoto-based Robo Garage unveils that two legged Ropid has a weigh of 16kgs. Powered by a lithium-ion battery, the little Ropid has 29 joints and four gyro-sensors in the body. The short video from CrunchGear will show us the Ropid in action.

Ropid could accept voice commands,  you will need to tell him to jump in Japanese at the moment. Wonder when the other languages version will be available? So far, no release date and pricing has been announced yet.
