Sony has been innovating starting a few years back, and Sony is planning to bring its latest discovery of Bio Battery program to the Eco-Products 2011 in Tokyo. Unlike hydrogen technology that runs on water, the new alternative energy Bio Battery is designed to runs on paper.
We believe that if the idea for unused or waste papers become popular within the next few years, there will be no more cheap selling of your old newspapers, magazine or other printed materials.
Eventually, many things we touched in our lives could transformed into energy in one or another way. The environmental conscious Bio Battery could break down the glucose from cellulose-rich paper as well as from cardboard and generate enough energy to run a small fan.
Even though Sony’s Bio Battery is not quite ready for generating massive scale of electricity, but consider the potential for transforming junk mail or old newspaper into electricity at a more portable scale is always interesting subject to look into.
