A mere 7.2mm thickness, Sony’s new portable media player coded NW-A840 is currently the slimmest pmp and walkman player available on the market.
This NW-A840 has a resolution of 240×400 OLED WQVGA display, with 2.8-inch display, S-Master digital noise cancellation technology, and Digital Sound Enhancement Engine. No info if this is a touchscreen base device.
Supported JPEG and image files are: MP3, WMA, ATRAC, ATRAC Advanced Lossless, AAC, PCM audio files, MPEG-4 AVC H.264, WMV video files and JPEG image files. It has built-in FM tuner.
The player has the WM-PORT so it is compatible with Sony’s Walkman dock products. A pair MDR-EX300SL earphones are included.
There is another version of purple blue casing coded as the NW-A847 Walkman PMP.
Above Walkmans are available in 16GB (NW-A845), 32GB (NW-A846) and 64GB (NW-A847) models in Black and Copper colors. They will be available in 31 October for 24,000 Yen, 30,000 Yen and 40,000 Yen respectively. Sony will also offer the limited edition NW-A847/V that comes in Purple.
