Soon enough, mobile internet connection would be smooth and interchangeable. As ST-Ericsson successfully built a device that could operate under multimode network connection.
And according to testing conveyed by ST-Ericsson using ST-Ericsson’s M710 platform on an LTE and HSPA live networks, has shown a smooth multimode mobile broadband data handover process.
Since the first multimode interoperability achievement by ST-Ericsson as early as 2002 for GSM and 3G networks, users in an LTE network coverage area would also able enjoy the flexibility of one smartphone for multimode broadband access.
Only now, users would be able to switch between several networks of GSM, 3G, HSPA and soon the LTE network using the ST-Ericsson M710 mobile platform.
The device and networks used in interoperability testing in Stockholm were in compliance with the industry standard for commercial deployment, 3GPP Release 8 March baseline. Multimode support allows device manufacturers to provide consumers with flexible and versatile devices. The chipset for ST-Ericsson’s M710 platform is now commercially available.
