Toshiba STOR.E ALU2: Big Space In A Slim Case – Portable External Hard Drives

Probably Toshiba is trying to get big in a small space filled with crowded competitions. The new STOR.E ALU2 external hard drives come in two formats of 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch, each pack with 8MB of buffer or cache memory.

Toshiba STOR.E ALU2 external hard drives will be available in following sizes:

1. 2.5-inch = 320GB, 500GB and 640GB [ dimension: 129(H) x 14(W) x 74(L)mm, weighing 175g, 5400 RPM ]
2. 3.5-inch = 500GB, 640GB, 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB [ dimension: 116(H) x 34.5(W) x 208.5(L)mm, weighing 1170 grams, either 5400 or 7200RPM ]

Toshiba STOR.E ALU2 external hard drives are designed with USB 2.0 interface, an aluminum enclosure and optimum transfer rate of up to 480 MB/s.

STOR.E ALU2 External Hard Drives will first hit Europe, Middle East and then Africa later this month. No word on pricing yet.
