What technology geeks have been waiting for have finally arrived! The USB 3.0 xHCI-based Peripheral Development Kit (PDK) provides two host-side solutions. It is intended to assist companies who are developing peripherals.
The kit contains reference USB 3.0 hosts (two PCIe add-in cards) which are useful in testing against a wide variety of peripherals; a 1m USB 3.0 cable; documentation; command verifier tool; a prototype driver; and compliance driver for Windows 7.
The PDK should help to speed up market roll-out so the pricing for such a kit is quite reasonable.
However, members have to fulfill the criteria in order to purchase the PDK:
1. The member should has a ‘good standing’ company;
2. Disclose plans that their companies intend to make a commercially available product;
3. Agree to actively participate SuperSpeed USB at IDF, CES, and other relevant trade shows.
