FreeAgent GoFlex is a new portable external hard drives released by Seagate. The FreeAgent GoFlex external hard drives comes in glossy black color casing and it will compatible to most interfaces using various cables provided, including for USB2.0, USB3.0, FireWire 800 and eSATA.

The cables provided for USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA or FireWire 800 is capable of providing up to 10x transfer speed for your large files and HD films. And by pairing the GoFlex external hdd with GoFlex Net media sharing device, you will be able to access and share your digital files from anywhere.


Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex has a dimension of 112x82x14mm (HxWxL), weighing approx. 160g (for the 500GB capacity hdd). And for Mac users, Seagate also provide NTFS driver for Macintosh computer. You will be able to use Windows-formatted (NTFS) drive on Macintosh PC of Apple’s laptop, except Time Machine, without having to reformat the portable hard drive.

The flexibility comes as a price however: the price per GB is higher than competing legacy products. That’s expected from this type of product, so it’s up to you to balance your desire for flexibility and the price that you are willing to pay for it.
