South Korea scientists are now trying to develop a new sound power technology for cellphone. The team of scientists is using a layer of zinc oxide nanowires that sandwiched between two electrodes to generate electricity from sound.


The initial prototype is is capable to generate up to 50mV, which is still considerably low compare to the voltage required by most cellphones nowadays.

However, with some more work, the research could eventually lead to cellphones that can harness your endless chatters for energy and keep your phone charged without using any energy from the grid.
